Chapter One :Chapter 1

"One night with him, and we'll give you the money!"

"Remember, no matter what happens, you can't run!"

The iron gate was slowly opened. Janet Bach came out of her cell in rags. No one came to pick her up.

It wasn't that she had come to the end of her prison sentence.

Someone bailed her out.

Clutching a note with an address, she went to the nearest highway and hailed a taxi. Nearly a day later, the driver finally delivered her to her destination.

It was an old, dark house. The outer walls were covered with thick wood. Vines spiraled upward toward the roof, not completely covering the split walls.

Knowing what she was coming for, the security guard led her to a room.

The room was pitch-dark as none of the lights were on. It was awfully quiet around here. As Janet walked in, she vaguely smelt blood.

She felt like she was in hell since she got here, because everything smelt like death.

Before she could get used to the darkness, she was pulled to the other side by a pair of powerful arms...

The smell of a strange man kept coming up her nose.

She covered her mouth so she wouldn't scream.

Then, a cold voice came from behind her. "Are you the woman they sent to serve me?

"Wow, I never thought I'd enjoy a woman this delicate before I die."

Janet felt wronged, but she did not dare to retort.

She was already here. There was no turning back.

"Are you... gonna die?" Her voice trembled uncontrollably, and her small, pale face was filled with fear.

The man answered straightforwardly. "Yeah, I'm dying. Are you having second thoughts?"

His voice was cold and somewhat playful.

Janet bit her lip and said stiffly, "No, I'm not."

It was her own choice, and she'd stick to it.

Her mother was still waiting for her!

It was frighteningly dark. Janet couldn't get a good look at the man, but she knew his days were literally numbered.

After an hour or two, the man lying on top of her finally fell into a deep sleep.

Jane felt as if she had been torn apart. Gritting her teeth, she dressed herself. Before she hurried away, she cast a glance at the man.

It was completely dark and raining heavily.

Without an umbrella, she ran down the street. Then, she took the nearest bus to Thomas' residence.

When she finally arrived, it was already one o'clock in the morning. The door was shut, but inside there rang with cheers and laughter.

"Open up! Open up!" Janet kept knocking on the door in the rain and shouted, "Give me the money. My mom's waiting for me!"

However, no one came to open to door.

Janet, who was soaked to the skin, felt weak in the knees and almost passed out. With a strong will, she did not fall down but knocked the door even harder.

"Open up! Open up! I've done what I promised you! Please, just give me the money like we agreed..."

Before she finished, the door suddenly opened.

Janet looked excitedly at the man.

He, however, covered his nose and looked at her with contempt and disdain.

She knew she was in a mess. Maybe even a beggar would look better than her, but she didn't care.

Her first priority was to save her mother!

Janet knelt down before the man, pleading with tears, "I've done what you asked. Please give me the money you promised... I need it, I really do!"

The next second, a black picture frame hit her in the face.

The man said with no expression, "Your mother's dead!"
